Flares

All anaerobic plants, must be equipped with a biogas flare, for safety reasons. GWE flares are designed to operate at low to medium pressure (<50 mbar), without the need for a biogas fan and for continuous burning in a wide range of biogas flows (5-100 %). This avoids the need for biogas storage systems (e.g. balloons) and keeps the biogas pressure in the reactor more or less constant.

GWE offers three types of flares:

ELEVATED FLARE:

Low cost flare, with free visible “elevated” flame. Large flares are supplied with an access platform.

SHIELDED FLARE:

Medium cost flare, with largely hidden flame.

GROUND FLARE:

Flame burning in SS chimney, invisible. Two step ignition. High temperature incineration.
The choice of flares depends on client preference (visible flame or not) and on requirements of local authorities, most often defined in a construction and operation permit, or on emission regulations.
